Private maternity nursing homes in Dunedin are experiencing a particular busy time, and the majority are booked up till September or October. The matron of one private nursing home stated that she could not remember experiencing such a busy time since the- last -year or two of the Great War. War expenditure by the Commonwealth Government up to March 31 was £30,773,000.
