SCHOOL COMMITTEE. The following twelve nominations have been received for the nine scats on (lie Pahiatua School Committee:—Mrs A. Anderson. Messrs T. C. Boyens, O. 11. Colter, J. W. Greaves. Claude MeCardie ,W. If. Murcli, R. O. Nisbot, M. F. Ryan. C. E. Smith, G. Godfrey Taylor, TR 11. Taylor and V. B. Wilton. POWER BOARD . At a meeting of the Tnrarua Electric Power Board Air J. D. Wilson presided. The secretary-manager (Mr W. F. Taylor) reported that the purchases of electricity for the quarter just ended amounted to £2788, compared with £2432 16s for the same quarter last year. The installation of 15 ranges, 11 water-heaters, and one motor during the month and the coming to hand of the loan of £3600 on behalf of the extensions in Akitio were also reported hy Mr Taylor. The engineer (Air D. Eraser) reported that in the Pahiatua area the staff has been occupied in maintenance work. In the Ekctahuna area overhanging trees that woro endangering the lines in various districts have been cut hack and some bad patches have been cleaned up. BOROUGH PURCHASE. The Pahiatua Borough Council has purchased a new 14 h.p. tractor-grader at .? cost of £B3O. It is to be emploved mainly on footpath formation, although it can be used for road work also.;
