Received April 20, 11.35 a.m. RDGBY, April 19. h' iFurther details of the Fleet Air 'Arm’s part in the Navy’s attack on which was their first inty’or offensive, reveal that on the day before the main attack (April 12) the Air Arm attacked German destroyers at J Narvik, scoring two hits on one destroyer and one on another. Synchronised attacks the next day were made on various defended positions. Two hits were registered on the German destroyers. The Air Arm ’planes ’ iave Slnce raided a large number of German aircraft ,on the frozen lakes and have destroyed several. They have Continued their reconnaissance work as well. On April 17 fighters of the Fleet An Arm were protecting the cruiser which was damaged by German aircraft aftci the naval bombardment of Stavangei and brought down one Heinkel 111 and one Dornier, and damaged two lieinkels and one Dornier. During tlm whole of the operations there were no casualties to the naval ’planes, but one casualty among personnel. . ,ii Forty U-boat prisoners were landed on Thursday at. a north-west Scottish it is understood Admiral Sir Edward Evans has been appointed additiona, Naval Attache to Norway. “Evans of The Broke” is as wellknown and well liked in Norway as in his own country.
