TROOPS AND ’PLANES. NORWEGIANS’ BRAVERY. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) BOi\L»oiN, April 18. It is reported trom Sweden that the British troops landed at Namsos, 100 miles north of Trondheim. British ’planes have bombed Sjorclalshals, another town in the Trondheim area. Meanwhile the Norwegians are stubbornly resisting the German advance on Elverum from the south. The invaders encountered a large force of defenders strongly entrenched in the foothills of the mountain range. The Norwegians holding the fort in the German rear have inflicted considerable losses. The German Official News Agency claims the occupation of the entire territory south-eastward of Oslo, extending to the Swedish frontier. The Germans claim the occupation of the fortresses of Oscarsburg and Drobak, dominating Oslo Fiord. The German High Command assorts that the transport of supplies to Norwegian harbours has continued despite the bad weather. The Royal Air Force is reported to have destroyed seven German ’planes and hit a petrol store at Trondheim on Tuesday. The German News Agency claims that the British have lost nearly thirty ’planes in the last few days, not including losses caused when an aircraft carried was damaged on April 11. It admits the loss of ten German ’planes during the same period.
