METHODIST CHURCH

INDUCTION CEREMONY. Tn the presence of a large congregation, on Wednesday, Rev. W. T. Blight, 8.A., 8.D., who has taken over the charge of the Feilding Methodist Circuit in succession to Rev. J. M. Allen, was inducted to the charge. The service was held in the Methodist Church and was conducted hy the chairman of the district, Rev. C. 11. Olds, 8.A., of Hastings, assisted by Rev. Clarence Eaton, of Palmerston North. The choir rendered an anthem and following the ceremony, a welcome was tendered to Mr and Mrs Blight and their daughter, Miss Margaret Blight, in the Sunday School Hall. Mr H. S. Tate, circuit steward, who presided, extended a warm welcome on behalf of the congregation and an opportunity was also taken to welcome Rev. Iv. Robinson, the newlyappointed home missionary in the circuit, who will reside at Halcombe. Representatives of the various churches in the district were present and joined in the proceedings. Songs were rendered by Miss K. Blanchette, Mr C. Johnston and Rev. E. B. Chambers, of Wanganui. In acknowledging the welcome, Mr Blight assured the gathering that he 'would do all in his power to further the interest of the Kingdom of God in their midst.
