PERSONAL. PAHIATUA, April 18. Sirs E. E. Etz and Mrs E. Brady arc visiting Wellington. Miss Vaughan, supervisor cf the Pahiatua telephone exchange,, has received word of her transfer to To Aroha; Miss M. tl. Blair, at present supervisor at To Awainutu, will take her place. Mrs W. 11. Murch, of Albert Street, accotnpanicd by 'her mother, Mrs A. E. Butler, of Claudelands, Hamilton, is visiting Wellington. MAKOMAKO GOLF CLUB. At the annual mooting of the Makoniako Golf Club, Mr J. Sargent presided. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, the latter showing a credit of £2O. It was decided to allow any soldier in uniform to play on thcl inks" free of charge. Members enlisting arc to retain their membership of the club until they were discharged from the army. Officers elected arc:— Patron, Mr F. Ebbett; president, Mr J. Sargent; vice-presidents, Messrs L. T. Herbert, W. G. Callender, A. A. Vaughan. Christmas. W. F. Day, W. Kernick, F. F. Barraclough; club captain Mr W. G. Rising; vice-captain, Mr A. J. Morgan; secretary, Mr 11. If. Chincry: treasurer, Mr G. Atkinson; committee, officers of the clnb and Messrs C. Ness, J. Day, and A. R. Wylie; auditor, Mr W. G. Callender. Mr MeMurtrie was re-appointed green-, keeper. NOTES, The proceeds from the Poppy Day appeal conducted On Tuesday have already passed last year's mark of £39 2s, and there are still several country collections to be handed in. When stooping to clear some sawdust from beneath a circular saw late on Tuesday afternoon. Mr C. Morrison, of lane, suffered a painful injury to one of liis hands when it came in contact with the revolving saw. lie was admitted to the Pahiatua Hospital.
