ITALIAN PRESS.

EQUIVOCAL ATTITUDE. LONDON, April 15. _ The Italian Press adopts an equivocal attitude toward the recent, events. Most of the newspapers show considerable ingenuity in trying to present a picture favourable to Germany. but at the same time there is a less confident note and a casual reminder that what is called “the great German victory'’ is not yet decisive. Signor Ansaldo’s statement yesterdav that Italy had no intention of waking up one morning and finding herself in the same position as Norway is interpreted by one German newspaper as meaning that Italy is ready to enter the war, and another states: “Italy is onlv awaiting a favourable opportunity.”
