ANTI-BRITISH FEELING
SENTIMENTS IN ITALY. Received April 17. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, April 16. [ Mr A. Du(T-Cuopor, in a speech, said: There is rising resentment against the present regime in Italy. Signor Mussolini lias a private and personal dislike of Britain and the Allies. The Italian Press is allowed to say only what Mussolini sanctions. However, others in not unimportant positions are great friends of the Allies. A Rome message says: Shouting “Down with Churchill,” a hundred students marched towards Signor Mussolini’s residence, hut were turned back by the police. Mr Chamberlain’s appearance on a newsreel was booed In several cinemas. A mob paraded before the British Consulate in Milan. A student broke into tile waitingroom and tore down British war posters before the police dispersed the demonstrators. SPANISH AIM. Received April 17, 11 a.m. MADRID, April 16. Significance is given to an article by an authoritative journalist, Manuel Aznar, declaring that peace is Spain's aud General Franco’s only aim.
