MART ON. April 15. At the annual meeting of tlic Rangitikei Hockey Sub-Association Mr W. G. Aitken presided. 'J'hc report and balance sheet were adopted, the latter showing a credit of £5. The election of officers resulted : President, Mr W. G. Aitken; vicepresidents, 10 were elected; hon. secretary and treasurer, Airs A. H. Wing; umpire organiser. Mr A. Gracic; ground committee, Messrs A. M. Smart, Mogndgc, and Gracie; fixtures committee, Messrs Graeie and Aitken; emergency committee, president and secretary; delegates to Tedding Association, Messrs Mogridge anu Aitken; chaperone, Airs A. 11. Ming. At the annual meeting of the Alarton Men’s Hockev Club the election of officers resulted; Patron, Mr F. Purnell; president, Air T. K. Barton; vice-presidents, nine were apiiointcd; hon. auditor, Air F. L. Nicol; .secretary, Air K. Raynor; treasurer. Air J. Sutton; delegate to Feilding Association, Mr J. Sutton; club captain, Mr 11. Parkinson; field captain. Mr J. Sutton; vicccaplain, Mr T. Calkin. At a medical examination of recruits for the Third Echelon, hv Dtx W. S. R. Dick and R. A. Church, the following were passed as medically fit: —Messrs R. T. Parkos, A. F. Jackson, 'l'. M. Willis, D. G. AlcLennan, Alarton- M. C. Cooptr, I. R. Havre, Bulls; G. E. Smith, Rata; G. W. Agnew, Ilunterville. . Threatening weather marked the official opening of the Alarton Golf Club °n Saturday afternoon. Mr P>. Cochran (president) welcomed the members and visitors and complimented the groundsman ( Mr Dander) on the excellent manner in which the links had been prepared. Following were the best scores in the mixed Canadian foursome, over twelve holes: F. J. Christensen and Miss M. Beckett, 57—11—16; Air and Mrs R. S. Fullerton-Smith, 50—3-47; Bruce Tidy and Miss J. Galpin, 62—14—43. 'l'he men’s approaching was won by G. Bcvan after a plav-ofT with M. C. Fcrtwiekc and F. J. Christensen, and the ladies’ by Airs R. Rathbone. The men's putting was won by C. Whitford and the ladies’ by Mrs D. Sladdcn.
