GERMANS ROUTED.
ALGERIANS IN ACTION. NAZI ATTACK RESISTED. PARIS. April 14. Twentv Algerian sharpshooters routed more'than fifty Germans and took •seven prisoners after a bitter all-night battle in No-Man's-Land. The Berlin News Agency admits that the attack on the Allied position south-west of Merzig met with violent resistance. “Consequently, the enemy was partly wiped out.’’ A communique says that at dawn two raiding parties penetrated the enemy positions, many of_ the enemy being killed and taken prisoner, hour trenches were destroyed. South-west of Kaarlautern, on French soil, a fetor in Troop detachment killed ten Trenchmen. An enemy attack southward ot Zweibrucken was repulsed with lieavy losses. Near Stein a patrol penetrated the enemy sentry line.
