BASKETBALL.

TE KAWAU ASSOCIATION. At tho annual meeting of the To Kawau Basketball Association Mr A. Castles presided. Delegates were present from Rangiotu, Taikorca, Glen Oroua, Kopano and Rongotea, and an apology for absence was ■receded from tbe Bulls Club. The' annual report, which was read by the secretary (Mrs Barker, of Glen Oroua) showed that the year bad been very successful. The opening’ tournament drew entries from all teams and, in spile of alterations lo the rules, the standard of play was exceptionally high. Tho balance-sheet showed that tho association is in a sound financial position, with a credit balance of £lB. Tbo election resulted; Patron, Mr J. Hill; president, Mrs Russell (Uangiotu); secretary, Miss R. Hill (Taikorca); vice-presidents, Messrs A. Castle, Fraser, Eichlcr and Mrs Brookc-Taylor; sole selector, Dir J. Hill. It was decided to affiliate with the Now ■ Zealand Association, and a recommendation was made regarding the sending of a delegate lo the conference. The Taikorca Club is to change its colour to royal blue, and Glen Oroua to grey and red. The matches, both A and B grades, will be played on Saturdays, players and teams to be graded at tho next meeting. A grade teams will play for the Davison-Hill Cup and the Verna Harriinan Cup for the runnersup. An opening tournament will be held at Rongotea. —Rongotea correspondent.
