Rossitten is situated on Kiirisclic Nclirung, the narrow strip of land which stretches into the Baltic in the far north of East Prussia and encloses the fresh water lagoon known as Kurisches Half. The Lim Fiord, the largest of Denmark, intersects Jutland and lias insulated tlie northern extremity of the peninsula since 1825. when it broke through the narrow isthmus which had separated it from the North Sea. Lulea is the Swedish town at the mouth of the River Lulea at the north of the Gulf of Bothnia and is the terminal of the railway running from N arvik.
