(From Our Own Correspondent.) lIAL.COAIBE. April 12. A large gathering congregated at the Lutheran Church, Haicombe, on Thursday evening to witness, the silver wedding ceremony of Air and Airs B. R. Wisiuiowsky. Rev. 11. Tit Puriga officiated. Air and Airs. Walter Reid, Ahtkino. acted an bridesmaid and best man respectively, while Airs H. To l’ltnga officiated at the organ. Following the church service an adjournment was made to the cupper room of the Jubilee Ilall. where the time was spent in .games and community singing. A vocal solo was rendered by Air W. To I’unga and a duel by Aiessrs IN'. To Runga and ,M. Wisiuiowsky. Two beautiful wedding cakes took pride of place on the supper table, one being from tho guests’ family and the other from Alin A. Johnski. 'The health of the guests of honour was proposed by Rev. Te Runga who congratulated Mr and Airs Wishnowisky on attaining the silver anniversary of their wedding and asked them to accept a silver cake dish on behalf of the members of the Lutheran Church to commemorate the occasion. This year it: is anticipated that Haicombe will ente:' a junior leant in the northern division of the Alanawatu Union. A senior team will not he entered. Haicombe senior players will probably play with the Feilding clubs. Ah- W. Iloappy was thanked for his donation of a football.
In the ladies’ golf played on Tuesday the silver challenge button donated by Air X'. Anderson was won by Aliss J. Fcrgtieson. who returned a score of 96 —25 — 71. Miss Fergusson also won the trophy donated bv All's E. W. Cowdrey. Tho draw for next Tuesday is: Mrs G. X'icol and Airs J. O’Sullivan. Mrs F. Cowdrey and Airs E. Cowdrey, Aliss O. Fergusson and AltsJ. Fergusson. Aliss B. Fergusson and partner, Airs L. Davies and Airs X'. Ashworth, Airs L. Fergusson and Airs L. Aliller, Airs R. Rentoul and Mr* D. G. The death of Air Douglas Warner, which occurred at, the residence of liis brother, Mr S. Warner, of Wnitotara. came as a shock to residents of this district. Mr Warner was for some time schoolmaster at Tokorangi and was keenly interested in the Returned Soldiers’ Association, being a member of tho Haicombe branch. All phases of spoils claimed bis attention and much patience was displayed by bint in instructing the children in various games. Several friends and returned soldiers from this dktriet attended the funeral, which took place at Waverley lasc Saturday. Friend* from Rongotea, Kopanc. Ashhurst, Woodvillc and Kketahtina also attended. From the house to the hoarse expupii* were tho pall-bearers while at the cemetery tin's duly was undertaken by Messrs J. Morgan and A. Lancaster (Kopanc I, AL Mitrpbv (Asblmrst), E. IV. Cowdrey, J. Mills, and G. Burces* ([-Jaieonibc), who represented the R.S.A. Floral tributes were forwarded by tho Tokorangi School Committee and the Haicombe branch of the R.S.A.

AV. Barnett had to enter hospital to undergo an operation. Aire R. For- - gusson and Aiks E. Fergusson. of Kakariki. are visiting AYcllington. Air and Airs J. 11.
