Charges of being drunk in Cuba Street last night and of an offence lender the Police Offences Act were preferred against Albert Charles Clapperton, alias Keith Jones, aged 21, station hand, of Feilding, who appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at Palmerston North on Saturday beiore Mr H. P. La wry, S.M. Accused pleaded guilty on both charges and was convicted and discharged on the first and fined £1 011 the second. Accused was further charged with committing a serious offence at Huknnui on October I. 1937. To enable further inquiries to l>e made he was remanded till April 22. Bail was allowed in' a surety of £IOO. accused to report daily to tlie police.
