NOT INFLUENCING UNITED STATES. Received April 13, 8.5 a.m. OTTAWA, April 11. Obviously referring to Mr Conant, although not naming him, the Premier (Mr Mackenzie King), in a statement, said that the Government had no thought of attempting to intervene directly or indirectly in the affairs and policies of the United States in relation to war. The Attorney-General of Ontario (Mr Gordon Conant) declared on April 3 that Canada's supreme war task is to make every effort short of impairing its status as a sovereign nation to bring the United States into the war on the Allies’ side. He added that the success of the Allies’ cause may bo very doubtful unless there is active United States’ participation at an early date
