THE WATERSIDE WORKERS
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —It was stated in the “Evening Standard” of last Saturday, the 6th inst-., that at a stop-work meeting ol the Auckland watersiders it was unanimously agreed to support the new Prime Minister and the Labour Party. Of course, it had to be a stopwork meeting; but what reassuring news to the country in general. They have given the taxpayer and the Government much concern in the past. Their elfort to anyone observant has certainly been deplorable, in 6pite of the fact that they have received every encouragement, in being given a wage far above the average worker’s. Now they appear to realise their iinfairnes's, and though never supporting any Government before, it gives one relief to hear of this new resolution. —I am, etc ’another LOYAL WORKER.
