SWIMMING.

JUNIOR CLUB. A meeting for the forming of »" swimming club was held in the supper room of the Opera House, there being present Messrs Nichols, Hart, and Lashlie and a large number of swimmers. A motion moved by Mr Hart and seconded by Mr Penketh that a junior swimming club he formed was carried, it to be named the Palmerston North Junior Swimming Club. A motion moved by Mr Penketh and seconded by Miss Davies was carried that members be limited to swimmers from the age of eleven upwards and secondary school pupils of any age, and those who have left school and do not exceed the age of eighteen on October 1 of each year. The following officials were elected: Mr J. Penketh, chairman; Mr J. Hunter. secretary; committee, Mr J. Nichols, Mr G. Davies, Miss J. Hart, J. Davies, Mr K. Woollett, Mr T.. Edgeler, Miss D. Lashlie, and Miss G. Redyvood. Mr Nichols was asked to procure one nomination from the Marist School and one from the Convent School for the committee. Those elected to the senior committee were Messrs Hart. Lashlie, Nichols and Greenyvood. Mr Hart yvas asked to act as president. Mr Nichols moved that those mentioned in the minutes become the foundation members and that the committee have power to add up to a total of fifty, each member to be proposed and seconded by club members and balloted for by the committee.—Carried. ■ <*
