'This cheque is to be forwarded to Wellington. The chairman conveyed his personal thanks to every member of the committee and to the several organisations and the numerous numbers of la-
dies and citizens who gave their assistance to this appeal. In no cases was assistance refused, but was given gladly. Everyone gave the same willing service and devoted considerable time to the appeal, and he sincerely thanked all individually and collectively who helped to make this splendid result possible. The chairman, on behalf of the committee, placed on record the service of Mr C. Woods, who carried out the duties of secretary so efficiently in an honorary capacity.
