CHECK TO NAZIS.
NORWAY’S STIFF RESISTANCE. (From Daventry.) The Norwegians are putting up a stiff resistance and the Germans have suffered a severe check a few miles north of Oslo, the capital, where the defenders have rallied and major fighting is taking place. In the north and west of Norway the Norwegians are showing the same spirit. The Norwegians have not at any point in the north and west been, thrown back more than ten miles from the coast, and Tromso, in the extreme north, is still in Norwegian hands. Norwegian officers believe they can hold their positions in the mountain passes of the north and west to which they have retired. . , The capture of the capital, Oslo, does not put an end to Norway’s resistance, for the coastal batteries and . the fleet have been attacking the Ger- " mans throughout the day.
