R.A.F. OVER NORWAY
OBSERVATIONS RECORDED. WIDE AREA COVERED. (British Official Wireless.) Received April 11, 12.35 p.m. RUGBY, April 10. At a height of 50ft. an R.A.F. pilot made a reconnaissance flight over Stavanger Aerodrome on Wednesday and counted, and classified all the German aircraft assembled there. Encountering no interference, the pilot made a second flight across the aerodrome to confirm his observations. British aircraft have also been busy along other parts of the Norwegian coast, noting the numbers and descriptions of German ships, several being engaged by enemy machines as they carried out the task over the towns, fiords, harbours and sea routes of the invaded country.
The Air Ministry announces that while on patrol early this evening off the north-east coast of England a Hurricane aircraft of the R.A.F. Fighter Command shot down two enemy Heinkel bombers.
