The Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association has reappointed His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Galway, to the office of patron of the association.
Rev. A. J. Wardlaw. of Waitahuna, Otago, has been appointed by the Auckland Presbytery to the Grey-Lynn-Richmond charge. The Minister of Public Works (Hon. R. Semple) arrived in Dunedin yesterday and left for Invercargill to-day. On Saturday he will visit the Homer tunnel and Milford Sound before inspecting the Haast Pass Road. Mr D. R. Grenfell, M.P., for Swansea, who has been visiting New Zealand as representative of the United Kingdom branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association at the Centennial celebrations, has left for Australia.
A motion of sympathy and good wishes with Flying-Officer E. AV. Barnett, of Halcombe, a member of the Air Force instructional staff at Bell Block, who is ill in a private hospital in New Plymouth, was passed at the annual meeting of the Alanawatu and AVest Coast A. and P. Association yesterday. A motion of sympathy with Air K. A. Henderson in his illness was also passed.
