BOOKINGS AT AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 9. Practically every jirivate maternity nursing home in Auckland is booked for the next seven months, believed to be due to the operations of the social security provisions, inquiries revealed to-day. In some homes all the accommodation is reserved until tlie end of the year, and there is a prospect that many confinements Fill have to take place in private homos. The Government-controlled St. Helen’s Hospital books for only two months ahead. There is a constant demand for accommodation, but where applications are submitted every effort is being made to accommodate the patients. The Auckland Hospital does not- cater in a large way for maternity cases and beds are not booked as in private hospitals, the only cases taken being those admitted from other hospitals.
