WAVE OF DISGUST.
REACTION IN FRANCE. ITALIANS BLAME ALLIES. Received Anril 10. 11.45 a.m. LONDON. April 9. After the first astonishment a wave of cold disgust has swept Fiance, intensifying the nation's grim resolution. Swedish circles in Paris regard Sweden's entry into the war as inevitable. The Italian Press reaction is unanimously pro-German in condemning Britain's violation of ■Norwegian waters. It is widely felt that the war will extend and l>e intensified. The Swiss Press condemns Germany, but special military measures are not considered necessary.
Although horrified at the German step the Dutch Press mostly accuses the Allies of responsibility for it by letting the initiative slip through their fingers after grasping it by mimelaying. The Belgian newspaper 1.0 Peuple says the extension of hostilities has been realised by tbe direct aggression of the German army and fleet of which two neutrals are the victims. “It is only the first coup in the decisive battle now being fought. The others will probably come quickly and all will not be given by the same side.
