WOOL APPRAISAL.
VALUES AT DUNEDIN. Ter Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 10. Tlie Dunedin Stock Agents’ and Woolbrokers’ Association report tfiat the fourth series of wool appraisements commenced on Friday last anti was concluded on Monday. Catalogues submitted to the appraisers totalled 16,265 bales. As usual at this time of the season the offerings contained a fair proportion of late shorn back-country dins, anil also straggler wools. There were, however. a number of good crossbreds on offer from the coastal districts, also a sprinkling of attractive halfbreds. The percentage of skirtings catalogued was higher than at the previous appraisements. This is accounted for by oddments being held over from earlier offerings. The selection of wools contained a fair proportion of types suitable for scouring. This will result in a substantial allocation lo the scourers in the Dominion. All arrivals of wool up to Friday were included in the catalogue, but the odd consignments which have been received since will he held for the next appraisement. This will take place in August unless sufficient wool is available for an earlier fixture. The top prices realised worn 20id for one bale of super Merino. The highest price for half bred was 18id for three bales of first halfbred.
