ACTIVITIES OF ROWERS.
PREPARATION FOR GAMES. Received February 1, 8.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 31. . The New Zealand crews on Sunday rowed in the morning and were the guests of Aldermen of the Blue Mountains Municipality in the afternoon on a motor tour of the Blue Mountains. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and received the utmost hospitality wherever they went. To-day, despite heavy rain, the crews rowed twice. Denison . was hack in the boat after a two days’ spell. Thompson rested; Jackson occupied Thompson’s seat and the emergency, Stowers, rowed. The crews confined their work to short, bright rows. The Australian fours, who were in difficulty with their boat, tried the Mosman boat in Sydney. They are taking it to Penrith to-morrow. Mr Tim Turner, a former stroke of the London crew, is assisting Mr Beresford, who is coaching the English eight.
