GRANT TO STUDENT.

A SPECIAL BURSARY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 31. Because he had shown unusual aptitude and application and desired to obtain a degree as Bachelor of culture, Keith M- Doull, one of the trainees under the Auckland 1 outh Farm Settlement Board has been granted a bursary to enable him to study at Auckland University College and Massey Agricultural College. The bursary, which has been given by the Education Department following recommendations by the Labour Department, is the first ever given in such circumstances. Until he was 21 years of age, Air Doull who has matriculated, was employed in the city. He was placed on a farm by the Farm Settlement Board under the scheme of training designed to culminate in actual settlement as an owner on the. land. Reports received concerning him by the hoard were so good and his interest in the technical side of farming was so keen that the secretary made recommendations to the Labour Department on his behalf that have led to the granting of the bursary. It is expected that for the first year Mr Don'll will attend Auckland Umver-i sity College. After that he will go: to ' Alassev College, and it is likely | that, if necessary, the bursary will be extended. It is his intention to spend the vacations in widening liis experience of practical farming. *
