FIRE TN COLLIERY. LONDON, Jan. 31. While a snow-storm chilled h UI F" dreds awaiting tidings at the pithead, rescue- brigades, after fighting for hours a fire which broke out a mile from the bottom of Dumbreelc colliery, Kilsyth (Scotland), found the bodies of nine men trapped and subsequently suffocated by fumes. Another entrapped miner escaped, gave warning and tried to return to his comrades, but collapsed and was taken to the pithead. A second miner dashed back to warn his mates, was cut off by fire, and lost his life.
