ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Feilding Caledonian Pipe Band Mr D. G. Fraser presided over an excellent attendance. Mr Fraser expressed his pleasure at seeing such-a splendid attendance, and welcomed Hon. J. G. Cobbe, M.P., who, he said, took a keen interest in the band and was one of its loyal officers. Pipe-Sergeant Butler, and DrumMajors J. McMillan and J. Noble were also congratulated on tlicir keen interest in the band. It was with regret that during the year the band had lost the services of its secretary (Mr W. Cocker), who had removed to the Lower Hutt. He had carried with him the best wishes of the band for liis future success. Mr Fraser concluded by thanking all those who had assisted, him as president and wishing the band success in the future. ' Pipe-Sergeant Butler reported that the band had made considerable progress during the year and had attained a higher state of efficiency than ever
before. This improvement was noticeable in every phase of the band’s work, including marching, drilling, and general appearance as well as the piping and drumming. Drum-Sergeant Noble supported the pipe-sergeant’s report, stating that in every way the drummers had responded well to the calls made on them. Piper D. McGregor reported that all ranks of the band had kept their uniforms in good order and generally endeavoured to keep the appearance of the band at a high standard.
