NEW TRADE TREATY.
CANADA AND AMERICA. WASHINGTON, Jan. 29. The Secretary of State (Mr Cordell Hull) has formally announced negotiations for a new reciprocal trade treaty with Canada, replacing the existing one. The change is necessitated by negotiations between England and America. Hearings of interested persons begin on April 4. The New York Times states that American and Canadian trade experts have been so pleased with the operation of the first treaty between America and Canada that there is a tendency to enlarge its scope.
