CELEBRATIONS IN SYDNEY, ILLUMINATIONS ON HARBOUR. MR PARRY IMPRESSED. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received January 31, 10.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 31. “I have in mind pictures of many things of interest and beauty of the celebrations to carry back to New Zealand and there was none hotter than the fireworks and searchlights display with the parade of illuminated little vessels in the harbour,” said Hon. W. E. Parry (New Zealand Minister of Internal Affairs), referring to Saturday night’s display. “It was a memorable occasion in a memorable setting. I have never seen anything so grand or so full of enchantment, and when witnessing it I had feelings of pride that Australians had in the wonderful feast of beauty that was before my eyes. “The picturesque happenings of Australia’s 150th birthday should remain in the memory of the people for ninny long years to come,” concluded Mr Parry. ___________
