FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
LAMB MARKET STEADY. The Bank of New Zealand (prdouce department) has received the following advice from its London office, as at . close of business last week:—The market is weaker for heavyweight wethers: lightweights remain steady. Weaker values are ruling for ewes owing to lack of demand. The demand and prices for lambs are steady. Smaller supplies of chilled beef have caused prices to harden. Current prices are: Wethers, light, sd. .to 53c1. per lb.; heavy, 3jjd. to 4 7-Bd. Kwes, 3d. to 4id. Lambs, 2’b, 73d.; B’s, 7 3-Bd. to Bd. ; 4’s, note quoted; seconds. 7ad. Chilled hinds, 6d. to 6id.; fores, 4d. to 4sd. The Bank of New South Wales has received the following cabled advice from its London office, dated January 28: Mutton, ewes, 3d. to 4RI. ; wethers, 33d. to 53d. Lamb, 7ad. to Bd. T’oef, 3 l-Bd. to 4 3-Bd. Pork, 7 3-Bd. to 7 5-Bd.
