MAIMGAHAO TO PLADIE. GAY ARTIST SHINES. Favoured by fine weather, the annual meeting of the Pahiatua Racing Club was concluded on Saturday. Pladio won the principal event, the Mangahao Handicap, and in the other open raco Passion Fruit was again successful. A feature of tho meeting was the treble success of tho grey mare Gay Artist. The totalisator turnover for the day was £10,928, compared with £9824 10s on tho second day last year. The total for the meeting was £20,156 10s, an increase of £l4ll 10s. RACING IN DETAIL. Colleen Gain, out in front with Gay Molly, was cased at the finish, and was nearly caught on the pest by Captain Trcville. The latter was_ badly placed early, but finished well. Ho ran up on the outer on the turn and, hitting tho front in the straight, won with something to spare. Hunting Queen, prominent from the star, ran on a little better than Lucullus Lad, who ran his usual race out in front. Holen Ford did not run so well as on the first day, and Limbohm pulled up very lame. Terry ran a little better, though she appeared sore.
