ATTACK AT NIGHT.
IN AUCKLAND SUBURBPer Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 30. Struck a vicious blow on the forehead by an unknown man as sbe was proceeding to her home at Onehnnga late on Saturday night, a young married woman, Mrs Edna Hirst, was rescued by neatly residents, who came to her assistance when they heard her scream. Mrs Hirst came to a dark part of the road, and was about to pass a man walking in the.opposite direction when without warning he raised his fist and struck her a heavy blow on the forehead. Mrs Hirst screamed loudly and was heard by several people living n'virbv. Her assailant, evidently afraid of being apprehended, made no attempt to rob her and disappeared,
