OBITUARY.
SENATOR JOHN BARNES. Received January 31, 1.5 p.m. MELBOURNE, Jan. 31. The death has* occurred of Senator John Barnes, who was a senator for Victoria from 1913 to 1920 and since 1922. He was also Leader of the Opposition in the Senate since 1932. He had' been in failing health for some time. Senator Barnes will be given a State funeral.
