CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES.
Love was the subject of the LessonSermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday. The Golden Text was I John 4: 16: “We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelletli in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible: “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea I have loved thee wjth an _ everlasting love : therefore, with loving kindness have I drawn thee.” (Jer. 31: 3). Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook; “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,” by Mary Baker Eddy: “People go into ecstacies over the sense of a corporeal Jehovah, though with scarcely a spark of love in their hearts; yet God is love, and without love, God, immortality cannot appear. Mortals believe in a finite personal God; while God is infinite love, which must be unlimited.” (p. 312).
