EGYPTIAN KING DEFIES CABINET.—Unrest in Egypt, smouldering since young King Farouk and the Cabinet of Premier Mustapha Na has Pasha (left circle) clashed over the status of the Wafd (Nationalist) Party youth groups and the appointment of Senators, was partially alleviated by compromise on both sides. Clashes had already occurred in the. streets of Cairo like the riot pictured which took place when Egypt was agitating for freedom from British rule. King Farouk (at right) is shown as he reviewed troops after his recent coronation. The map shows the sphere of British influence in Egypt and Africa and in the Suez Canal and Medi terranea zones.
