GAOL SENTENCES

FALSE DECLARATIONS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. Jan. 28. Sentence to terms of imprisonment was passed by Mr C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., on four men who were charged in the Magistrates’ Court to-day with false pretences by making false declarations of income to obtain sustenance from the Employment Promotion Eund. One accused was sent to gaol for six weeks and the other three were each sentenced to two weeks’ imprisonment.
