NEW ZEALANDERS’ MATCHES

The bowling carnival was resumed to-day when the two rounds of the singles interrupted by rain -were played. The pairs and fours were also taken a further stage. New Zealanders are finding the greens generally heavy, with only a minimum of draw because of recent rains, humidity and the growth of grass. New Zealand results include.— Singles, knock-out contests: First round, Hawking beat the Victorian, La Franchi, 21—8; Griffiths beat the Victorian, Gray, 21—15; Livingstone beat Ayrling (New South Wales), 21—12; Bremner lost to the Victorian, Trumble, 16—21. Second round: Hawking won, 22—11;'Griffiths lost to the South Australian, Kenny, 20—23; Livingstone heat the South African, Harvey, 21—13.
