SENTRY ASSAULTED.
INCIDENT AT NANKING
Received January 28, 10.45 a.m. SHANGHAI, Jan. 27. A Japanese sentry at Nanking has assaulted Mr Allison, the Third Secretary of the United States Embassy. The Japanese authorities have apologised for the assault and have warned their nationals to avoid besmirching Japan’s good name.
