BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP. SYDNEY, Jan. 27. The elimination rounds in the pairs championship in the Australian bowling carnival w’ere begun to-day, but were interrupted in the afternoon by the storm The two New Zealand pairs left in played at Mosman and Rose Bay respectively, Macey and Denison w'inning against the Queensland pair, Sheridan and Kerr, 23 — 13, and Osmond and Goldfinch losing to the Queensland pair, Boden and Speed, 6 —28. The Fijians, Taylor and Dobell, won 16 —14. Macey and Denison in the next round beat the Queensjanders, Boklery and Boldery, 17 15, blit Taylor and Dobell were beaten by the Victorian pair, 18 —16.
