CARNEGIE GRANTS.
FOR SIX NEW ZEALANDERS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON,' Jan. 27. The Carnegie Corporation of New York has advised the New Zealand Council for Educational Research that grants have been made to six New Zealanders to enable them to travel abroad for the purpose of studying developments in fields of special interest to these visitors. The grants have been made to men and women in key positions so that they may rise the knowledge gained overseas in their social and educational work in New Zealand.
The recipients of the grants are: Aliss K. B. Turner, of the staff of the Normal School, Christchurch ; Air R. Donn, lecturer in art at the teachers’ Training College, Auckland; Air R. A. Falla, director of Canterbury Museum, Christchurch; Air G. N. T. Goldie, assistant chief traffic inspector, AVellington; Air V. C. Peters, music master, Christchurch Boys’ High School and conductor of the Harmonic Society. Christchurch; and Air H. J. Thornton, secretary of the Education Board, Nelson. Some of the above grants have already been announced.
