FUNDS FOR STRIKERS.
NEWCASTLE STEELWORKERS. Received January 28. 8.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 27. The strikers at Lysaght’s Newcastle works contemplate soliciting funds from other States, also from New Zealand.
Production ceased at Lysaght’s Newcastle steel works on Tuesday, and 1400 idle men were reported to bo casting round for financial support from kindred unions. It was expected that the Industrial Commission would try to arrange a conference between the parties.
