EAST COAST DISTRICT. Cheques paid out by two Gisborne cjjiiry companies on Friday last totalled £29,352. this amount being about £I7OO less than the payments made a year ago. The Kia Ora Company’s advance on the basis of 12Jd per lb; totalled £23,093, - this being about £6OO less than the' first payment made last year, when the advance was on the basis of 12d per lb. The company’s butter output last month was 479,72411), compared with 512,3161 b in December, 1936. The Okitu “advance' at' per lb', totalled £6259, compared with £7379 a year ago at 12d.
