WESTERN JUNCTION FOR NEW LINK RAILWAY.—In the foreground is Pokeno, one of the terminal points of the new link railway which is to be built between Pokeno and Paeroa, a distance of forty-two miles. The dolled line shows where it will connect close to the Pokeno railway station and then skirt the historic Queen’s Redoubt. In the middle distance can be seen the Mangatawhiri Stream. Paeroa lies behind the ranges in the distance.
