At vesterdav’s meeting of the Ivmitca County Council the appointment of Mr D. 'E. Fleury as assistant clerk was confirmed. , . Mrs R. Bailey, of West Street, and her niece. Miss M. AVilliams, are speuding a holiday at Paraparaunni Beach. • Miss B. Beedie, of Dannevirke, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs G. Mcßetli, of Kimbolton. Further success has been achieved by the talented Feilding musicians. Misses Betty and Vivienne Blamires, who have l>een studying in London since 1935. Miss Betty Blamires has passed her final examination for the degree of Bachelor of Music, and lias been awarded a scholarship for composition. Miss Vivienne Blamires has passed her L.R.A.M. examination in singing. Both, are continuing their studies at the Royal College of Music, states a.n overseas correspondent, and hope to give a recital there shortly.
