“MERCY” KILLINGS

AMERICAN CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED. NEW YORK, Jan. 21. A group of outstanding scientists, authors, doctors and clergymen have announced a campaign to legalise “mercy” killings of incurable sufferers. They will form a National Society for the legalisation of euthanasia. The society will conduct a nationwide campaign of education towards the introduction of Bills in all States and in the Federal Congress to legalise “mercy” killings. Several Englishmen have been elected to the advisory board. They include Messrs Havelock Ellis, Julian Huxley, the Earl of Listowel and Mr H. G. Wells. All are members of the English society which already has introduced a Euthanasia Bill into the House of Lords.
