HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.
GRANT FROM ART UNION. Mrs M. Aitehison presided at the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, which was Held in the City Council Chambers yesterday afternoon. Also present were Mesdames J. A. Nash, S. J. Parkos, J. Stone, M. Ashworth. F. Bennett J. Barsanti, W. Moulder, W. Richardson, W. M .Huntington (secretary). Misses M. McLagan, V. Wilson, and Clark. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. E. Mansfortl, T. R. Moore, Wilson, F. J. Nathan, .T. Saunders, E. L. Christian, F. G. Murphy and Miss L. Banks.
A welcome was extended to Miss Wilson who was present for the first time. Mrs Aitehison referred to the pleasure derived by the Hospital patients, especially those of the annexe, from the regular visits of Miss Wilson.
Letters of appreciation and donations were received from the newly appointed vice-presidents. Letters of thanks for Christinas gifts from the auxiliary were received from the Awapuni Home and the District Nurse. Messages of thanks for assistance rendered by the auxiliary were also received from two grateful mothers. It was' decided that another trolley be procured for the distribution of books at the Hospital. A letter of thanks is to be sent to Mr R. K. Beale for his weekly gift of reading matter. A grant of £SO, being art union profits, was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs. An application is to be made to the T. G. Maearthv Trust for inclusion in the list of annual disbursements. Mrs Parkes consented to accept the duties of secretary, after the departure of Mrs Huntington, providing a treasurer is appointed.
