THE SOUTH POLE.
NO RUSSIAN EXPEDITION. LONDON, Jan. 16. “I am afraid that the reports about a Russian expedition to the South Pole toward the end of the year arc rather misleading,” said the Soviet Ambassador in London (M. Maisky). “Apparently they are based on M. Vodopanioff’s story, entitled, 'The Dream,’ in which ho envisaged the possibility of organising an expedition in the not too distant future. I do not know that any such official expedition is yet contemplated.”
