PROBABLE APPOINTMENT. Received January 26, 11.20 a.m. WASHINGTON, Jan. 25. Mr A. A. Berle, who was a leading member of President Roosevelt's "Brain Trust" during its early years, is prominently mentioned for appointment as Assistant-Secretary of State, where he would aid Mr Cordell Hull with fiscal and trade matters.
