RUBBER QUOTA.

COMMITTEE’S ACTION

Received January 26. 9.45 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 25

The International Rubber Committee has fulfilled the. market’s best expectations and cut the quota for the second quarter of 1938 to 60 per cent. The market has long considered this drastic, but essential in view of the mounting total of world stock and the Unsatisfactory level of prices. It is believed that 60 per cent, quota will not mean a dangerous rise in prices; but should definitely help to maintain rubber at a remunerative level.
